Internet Suite Products

CMC has created four internet products that seeks to address most of our Customer needs for Internet access within the countries CMC supports. The products consists of two unmanaged and two managed products. The unmanaged products are a re-sell of an in-country’s service; the service does not touch our network and therefore cannot be managed.

The managed services are a business class service with SLA’s. The services is diverse from our MPLS network and therefore well suited to be used as backup or top-up to the MPLS network or for SD-WAN Services.

The availability indication for the Broadband Internet and DIA (Dedicated Internet Access) products are an indication of what can be expected of the service.. The Managed services (Business Internet and IPVPN) however has an SLA for availability and Packet Loss, Latency and Jitter for IPVPN. Please see SLA parameters below:


1. Broadband Internet

This service is a resell of an in-country supplier’s Broadband service that consists of a contended last mile and contended internet service. The service is provide from the Customers premises where the provider will install their own CPE device. The service does not touch our PoP/equipment and therefore cannot be managed.

Indicative Availability: (97.5%)
As indicated, this services does not touch our PoP and is not managed. Monitoring will be on a re-active basis and will be handled once a call has been logged at our call centre.


2. DIA (Dedicated Internet Access)

This service is a resell of an in-country supplier’s service; the last mile consists of a symmetrical service where the up speed is equal to the down speed. It can be provided over a “Broadband” las mile or an Enterprise” last mile. The internet breakout is uncontended i.e. 1:1. The services does not touch our PoP and therefore considered as an un-managed service.

Indicative Availability: (99%)
As indicated, this service does not touch our PoP and is not managed. Monitoring and service disruption will be on a re-active basis and will be handled once a call has been logged at our call centre.


3. Business Internet

This is a business class service and is primarily used to connect business users to the internet. The service consists of an enterprise last mile that is an uncontended service. The medium will either be fibre, copper or wireless. The internet services is uncontended as well with local internet breakout. The Internet service breaks out from the CMC in-country PoP and not from the Customer premises as is the case with the Broadband services.

SLA:
There are various SLA’s offered with Business Internet that has a commercial impact, technical build criteria with associated credits when out of SLA. SLA offered will be on availability only, no IPSLA statistics (i.e. Packet Drop, Latency and Jitter) will not be offered. Standard SLA’s offered are, Silver, Gold and Platinum, these SLA’s are described below:

Silver SLA: (99%)
This SLA will carry a 99% up time that equates to a down time of 7hr cumulative per calendar month. Maximum credit payable if out of SLA will be 10% of MRC (Monthly Recurring Charge).

Gold SLA: (99.2%)
This SLA will carry a 99.2% up time that equates to a down time of 6hr cumulative per calendar month. Maximum credit payable if out of SLA will be 12% of MRC (Monthly Recurring Charge)

Platinum SLA: (99.5%)
This SLA will carry a 99.5% up time that equates to a down time of 3.5hr cumulative per calendar month. Maximum credit payable if out of SLA will be 15% of MRC (Monthly Recurring Charge)
