CMC Networks adopts 128 Technology network platform

Network and software company 128 Technology, has announced a commercial deployment of its 128T Session Smart Networking Platform with CMC Networks in South Africa.

The partnership currently extends over 16 countries with the intention of expanding globally in the coming year. CMC Networks deployed 128 Technology’s through the help of RedvineNetworks, a part of the 128 Technology partner program.

Jatinder Sispal joins Africa and Middle East carrier CMC Networks as EVP: Global Sales

CMC Networks continues to strengthen its Executive Committee with the appointment of Jatinder who brings over 20 years of carrier expertise to CMC.

 Jatinder was previously instrumental in the creation of Telstra’s wholesale division in Europe as well as spending 10 years at Colt where he held a number of leadership roles his last being responsible for all of Colt’s indirect sales and marketing business channels across Northern Europe.

Rakesh Bhasin Appointed Chairman of CMC Networks

CMC Networks (CMC) today announced that Rakesh Bhasin has been appointed as Chairman of CMC. Bhasin is an internationally renowned telecommunications executive and has been a Non-Executive Director of CMC since June 2017.

Bhasin’s appointment follows Grant Walker’s decision to step down as Chairman on the first of March. Bhasin served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Colt Group SA until 2015. He led Colt for nine years where he restructured the business, launched new service offerings, eliminated regional silos and expanded the business globally. Under his leadership, Colt enhanced profitability and began generating significant positive cash flow.

CMC Networks in New Partnership with The Carlyle Group

Johannesburg, South Africa, February 7, 2017 – CMC Networks (CMC), Africa’s largest managed connectivity provider, today announced that The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG), a Global Alternative Asset Manager, has acquired a majority shareholding of CMC. The transaction value exceeds $100 million (R1.4 billion) and Carlyle’s investment gives them a majority shareholding. Further financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
